Centuries of Mexican history
According to the hacienda’s own historical account, Chiconcuac dates to the 16th century and was built and inhabited by Martín Cortés, identified by the venue as the son of Hernán Cortés and La Malinche. It operated as a sugar estate and grew with courtyards, gardens, aqueducts and production areas. In the 19th century, the property was acquired and inhabited by Felicitas Juárez Maza, daughter of President Benito Juárez.
